Prof. Dr. Maria Leitner ist Professorin an der Universität Regensburg. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Prozessautomatisierung, sichere prozessorientierte Informationssysteme und Cybersicherheit. Zuvor war sie Professorin für Informatik an der Fakultät für Informatik der Universität Wien (externer Link, öffnet neues Fenster) und Wissenschaftlerin am AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (externer Link, öffnet neues Fenster), Center for Digital Safety & Security in Wien (externer Link, öffnet neues Fenster), Österreich. Im Mai 2017 war sie Gastforscherin am Center for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics an der Arizona State University. (externer Link, öffnet neues Fenster)
Zwischen 2010 und 2013 arbeitete Dr. Leitner an der Universität Wien, Fakultät für Informatik, in der Forschungsgruppe Workflow Systems and Technology (externer Link, öffnet neues Fenster)als Lehr- und Forschungsassistentin und schloss 2015 ihr Doktorat mit Auszeichnung ab. In ihrer Dissertation beschäftigte sie sich mit der Integration von Sicherheitsrichtlinien und Lebenszyklusmanagement in prozessorientierten Informationssystemen. Im Jahr 2014 arbeitete Dr. Leitner als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin bei SBA research, (externer Link, öffnet neues Fenster) einem IT-Sicherheitsforschungscluster in Wien, wo sie sich mit der Erkennung von Anomalien in Zugangskontrollsystemen beschäftigte.
