Early Career Conference on "Postcolonial Perspectives on Memory Culture" at the Center for Commemorative Culture at the University of Regensburg

The lettering "Kolonialwarenhandlung" on the facade of a house, the chocolate ambassador in cute plush pants: often nostalgically interpreted, they are shadows of a colonial past that still haunt everyday life as images or concepts and make visible the historical and current presence of post/colonial realities.

From 24 to 27 July, early career scholars explored in Regensburg the seemingly banal everydayness of colonialist world views and discussed how they can be reflected upon and negotiated.
